  5. Last Saturday I went to the park with my cousin and we had a great time. We walked around the square and enjoyed the lively atmosphere downtown. The funniest part was when a pigeon pooped on my cousin’s head just as I was about to take a photo of her. We laughed a lot, but we had to find a place where she could wash up because we needed to go into the stores to look for a dress she needed—the main reason we had gone to that area.

  7. I just got back from a trip to San Onofre, where I visited my grandfather’s house. My parents had gone to see the new calf that had just been born.
During the trip, something funny and a little scary happened. My brother started to cry because the cow looked sad. He decided to go into the corral to comfort the cow, but then the cow began to chase him. I was shocked by what I had seen and screamed loudly.
My parents and my grandfather quickly arrived, and the cow was tied up so my brother could get out. Everyone was frightened but also relieved. After that day, my brother has never wanted to go back to my grandfather’s house again.

  8. A Day Trip
I just got back from my vacation and had a great time. I experienced so many amazing things. I also took a day trip while I was there. My aunt Laura and her boyfriend Elmer invited me to their house for a few days in Monteria, a large and very peaceful city.
I traveled to Monteria by car. The trip took a little over two hours, but it was pleasant and relaxing with music playing along the way and the views were beautiful. I really wanted to explore a new place. I walked around the neighborhood; I really liked it! There were bigger stores and a large market with fresh produce open 24/7.
We bought food from Ara and ate our ramen next to the TV. We watched One Piece and I felt very happy. Then we went to my cousin's house and I watched some anime. We didn't get to do everything we wanted to before leaving. But we had a great day and I was happy to visit my distant family again.

  9. Last year, I visited Medellín I arrived on a sunny morning. The city sat in a valley, surrounded by green mountains. I took a taxi from the airport to my hotel in El Poblado, next day, I rode the metro to the city center. The train was clean and efficient. I got off at Parque Berrío and saw the Botero sculptures, exaggerated figures in the main square. I walked around, felt the energy of the people, in the afternoon, I took the cable car up the mountain. The view was incredible. I saw the entire city stretching out below me. The houses looked like little colored bricks on the hillsides.
That evening, I ate a tipycal lunch in a small restaurant. It was huge and very tasty. I talked with a friend who lives in Medellín and he recommended a place for live music. I only stayed for three days, but I loved the experience. I returned home with great memories and a desire to go back one day.

  11. Every year during Holy Week, a camp is organized in Cartagena, which I love to attend. I went with the church club. We left at noon on Monday to arrive by 6 p.m. We had dinner, went to bed early, and then began building the place we were going to stay in for the whole week from scratch. It was the most exhausting day. That night, we got ready to go to the opening. It was simply beautiful. There were people from all over the Caribbean and the Colombian Pacific.

Every day we woke up at 4:00 a.m. to get ready so we could arrive by 6:00 for morning devotions. Then we returned for breakfast and a campsite inspection. Around 9:30 a.m., all the sports and Bible activities began. We had to run around. By the end of the day, we were so tired that we fell asleep as soon as the lights went out.

My most memorable memory from the last time I went was when several marriage proposals were made at the evening marches. Although it all ended up being quite exhausting, it was worth it. You had a great time and it was a wonderful experience because you get to disconnect for a few days from everything that torments you and clear your mind.

  13. Last year I went on vacation to the beach with my family and my cousins. The trip was a little long, but when we arrived everything was worth it. The sun shone brightly, the sea breeze was nice, and we all ran straight to the beach. I went into the water but stayed at the shore because I didn’t know how to swim, while my cousins swam and played in the deeper water. I walked along the sand, collected seashells, and took pictures of them.

Later we ate fried fish with rice and plantains, and we drank cold panela juice. After lunch we rested under an umbrella, listened to music, and talked. In the afternoon we walked on the beach, watched the sunset with its beautiful colors, and finally returned to the hotel tired but happy.

On my last vacation to Barranquilla I lived many significant experiences, like arriving late to the place of the event where we were going, not finding transportation and getting lost with the address, but despite everything I had a great time, I got to know new and different places thanks to my friend Sheyla who invited me to visit the pier 1998, where we spent an hour to get there and in the middle of the trip there was a fight because it was late we hadn't arrived and we had to go back, and because we hadn't been able to have lunch either, so we had to stop at a supermarket and buy juices and bread, but without a doubt it was an excellent trip full of laughs and tension, which I would repeat.

So, I decided to go there for the day. We traveled to Johnny Cay by boat. The trip took about 15 minutes, but the ride was nice and exciting. The boat went across the turquoise sea, and the views were stunning. I was excited to explore the island. We walked around the island and snorkeled in the crystal-clear waters. It was so beautiful! There were colorful fish and coral reefs everywhere. We bought lunch at a local restaurant and ate our seafood by the beach. We watched the sailboats go by, and I felt so relaxed. I was excited to discover such a special place. We walked through the colorful market and climbed the famous Tepozteco hill. It was an incredible experience! There were craft stalls and a festive atmosphere in the streets.

We bought food from a street vendor and tried some delicious tlacoyos in the main square. We watched the hot air balloons cross the sky, and I felt completely at peace. Afterwards, I bought a beautiful hand-embroidered blanket. We didn't have time to do everything we had planned before returning. But it was an unforgettable weekend, and I was thrilled to have discovered such a unique corner of my country.

  29. On my last vacation, when I finished the semester at university, I had already planned a trip to Cartagena. I was really looking forward to it because I wanted to explore the city and, most importantly, reunite with a very dear friend I hadn’t seen in a long time. As soon as I arrived, I called him and we agreed to go out and visit some of the most popular tourist spots, starting with the historic center.

That day was very special. We walked through those streets full of history, with their colorful houses and balconies covered in flowers, while we talked and caught up with each other. Between laughter and stories, we remembered old times, and it felt as if no time had passed since we last saw each other.

We had a great time: we ate at a traditional restaurant, tried some local sweets, and ended the day watching the sunset by the sea, which looked amazing with its orange and pink colors. It was a really beautiful moment because I not only enjoyed the city, but also the chance to share it with someone so special to me.

Then, we wanted to accompany a friend who lives in Corozal, so we all decided to go by motorcycle and ride along the beautiful road. We were happy because of the adrenaline and the good company we felt. When we got there, our friend gave us a small tour of Corozal and let us try some of its traditions, since the rest of us didn’t know them. When we finished, it was late and we had to head back home, so we said goodbye to our friend and started our trip back. The road at night felt a little overwhelming, but by being careful we managed to arrive safe and sound.

  47. I was visiting Cartagena recently, and it was fantastic! You're immediately impressed by everything, from the beaches that are just gorgeous to those old walls that tell stories. Walking around there and seeing the monuments is like being transported to another era; you can really feel the history in the air.
And the beaches, wow! You relax so much with that sun and the blue sea. The sand, the breeze... a paradise to disconnect!
But the funniest thing happened at a restaurant. We were eating quietly, and suddenly a clown came out to dance, and on top of that, he started dancing just like Shakira! Imagine, my mom and I couldn't stop laughing; it was so incredibly funny. We had a super good time with that surprise.
Honestly, Cartagena has it all: history, spectacular beaches, and even unexpected shows that brighten your day. It was a really great trip; we got to experience a bit of everything and enjoyed it a lot.
